The aim of the prize is to promote the use of the European implementations of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and Earth Observation (EO) in agriculture. We’re looking for new ideas and innovations, particularly those relying upon European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS), the forthcoming GALILEO system, or Copernicus.  Entries can be from individuals or teams, and be about any type of agriculture. Entries must therefore clearly demonstrate how the use of GNSS EO is either ...

a) already realizing significant benefits to users or
b) could enable new innovative services in the near future.

Particular attention should be paid to the additional value offered by EGNOS in providing a free-to-air higher accuracy augmentation to Global Positioning System (GPS) and the new European Galileo satellite service starting in the end of 2016. Note also that EGNOS extended eastwards towards Central Europe during 2012. Galileo will provide global coverage.
